North East Sporting Memories (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use northeastsportingmemories.co.uk, why we collect it, and what your rights are. We comply with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

The site is operated by North East Sporting Memories, an independent collector’s archive based in the North East of England. For any privacy question, please get in touch via our contact form.

Information we collect

  • Account & contact details — name and email when you sign up, place an order, submit an item to sell, or contact us.
  • Order & delivery details — postal address and order history for items you buy.
  • Payment details — card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers.
  • Content you submit — memories, ratings, photos of items you offer, votes and poll responses.
  • Technical data — basic request logs (IP address, browser) retained briefly for security and to keep the site running.

How we use it

  • To fulfil your order, arrange delivery and issue receipts.
  • To reply to your enquiries and administer your account.
  • To send transactional emails about orders you place.
  • To operate community features (polls, votes, shared XIs).
  • To keep the site secure and prevent fraud.

Legal basis

We rely on contract to process orders, legitimate interests to run and secure the site, and consent for any optional marketing messages you opt into.

Sharing

We share the minimum information necessary with the providers who make the site work: Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery) and our hosting/database provider. We do not sell your data. We may disclose information if required by law.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember your bundle cart. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If we add analytics in future, we will update this page and ask for consent where required.

Retention

Order and tax records are kept for six years to meet HMRC requirements. Account data is kept while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to object to certain processing. Email us and we will respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
